Broken toe and 3 Day Walk training08/21/2006 |
I am training to walk a 3 Day, 60 mile fundraising event in 9 weeks and I just broke my little toe. I am up to walking 14 miles at a time, and I hate to lose my training momemtum, but equally worried about starting up too soon and permanently damaging my toe. Whenever I untape my "buddy toe", my little toe leans away from the other toes. Will it heal that way?
It it important to determine the type of fracture in you foot. Some fractures may become displaced with repetitive weight-bearing activities such as walking. Review the Xray with your physician and determine the type and severity of the fracture before continuing your walking program.
