Metaformin ????08/24/2006 |
hi there i have just been prescribed Metaformin Hydrochloride 500mg (diabex tablets) for weight loss i weigh 116kg and i am 5 ft 7 my BMI is 39.2. I want to know whether this is a good option for me?
The first question I would ask is has your doctor ever diagnosed you with diabetes? Actually, Metformin Hydrochloride is an oral antihyperglycemic agent that is prescribed for Type 2 diabetes. In other words, Metformin is used to control blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetics.
If you are concerned, I would suggest speaking with your doctor in more detail about why you have been prescribed this medication and the potential side effects that may occur as a result of taking this medication.
