Colon Cancer08/24/2006 |
I guess my question has to do with a time frame. 92 yr old has colon cancer, could not be operated on, no chemo, no radiation. Had a diverting ostomy. They gave 6-12 months. Said to let nature take its couse. It has been 5 months now. Now she is not eating, her abdomen is quite distended, noticably weaker in the last few days, and some blood in the ostomy pouch. At this point, what does or could it all mean? Thank you.
It seems that the cancer is probably progressing to its final stages. I would suggest the involvement of hospice care to help optimize her comfort care.
