why do fad weight reducing diets usually fail?
Fad diets focus on the symptom of the problem - excess weight - not on the cause of the problem - lifestyle habits. Typically fad diets will have you change your way of eating but generally do not deal with the eating you may do as a result of stress or boredom. Fad diets generally do not focus on being active. The diet might encourage being active, but little time is spent in helping you to establish regular activities.
When fad diets are stopped, people will typically return to their old way of eating and the weight lost will return.
