White lumps on tongue11/01/2006 |
Hello. I'm 13 and I don't really brush my teeth. I started to get rid of these white bumps on the edge of my tongue. In a minute I bite them probably 50 times or more than that. I was wondering what it was and what I should do. Thank you.
There are many different types of white bumps that can appear on your tongue. Some of the normal papillae on your tongue may appear white at times. They could be from your biting the sides of your tongue. It could come from a fungal infection commonly called thrush. To determine if these white bumps are anything serious, it will be necessary for you to see your local dentist. He or she will be able to determine if there is a problem.
