Rehab for left hand11/21/2006 |
best I can determine I had a cerebral embolism_3 wks. ago (neurologist not certain of origin). Major effect has been the left hand. Can now make loose fist w all fingers. Numbness, lack of sensory perception and strength persist especially in index finger and thumb__no tingling sensation yet. Going to O.T. Would appreciate any helpful ideas. What about Bioness glove, etc.?
It is still fairly early after the stroke. If you continue to practice, doing the exercises taught to you in therapy and using the hand as much as possible, then you may still be seeing improvement for quite a while.If interested in learning about some ongoing research projects that are testing new technology that might improve recovery, see rehablab.org
