Information About Porcelain Crowns11/02/2006 |
My dentist is recommending porcelain crowns for 4 of my front teeth for a cost of $3,000.00 Do you think this is too high a price and are there any cautions for veneer porcelain crowns? My teeth are OK looking and this would be strictly cosmetic.
The cost of the 4 crowns sounds reasonable. However, porcelain veneers may also be a solution for cosmetics depending on whether there are previous fillings in the teeth and also depending on the way teeth come together or occlude.
Porcelain veneers are more prone to fracture than full crowns, however they are more conservative of natural tooth structure. It never hurts to get a second opinion from a prosthodontist.
