Anxiety and Stress Disorders (Children)

Unexplained Anxiety

11/15/2006

Question:

My teenage son has been told he has unexplained anxiety by his school`s psychologist. Is this a legitimate diagnosis?

Answer:

Well its hard to determine the extent of your son's evaluation and the credentials of the psychologist in question.  If you have concerns I would certainly seek a second opinion and explore with the school the nature and circumstances for your son's evaluation and their recommendations.
