Menstrual cycle11/27/2006 |
My daughter is 11 yrs old and got her period for the first time about 2 months ago. Is normal that she has it for about 8 or 9 days? It's normal bleeding, but then she gets it again. It seems like every three weeks instead of four. Could something be wrong? it has been the same for the first three periods she has had.
The first 6-12 months of menstruation can be extremely variable, and that is normal. Some girls (and women) have long periods; some short, but your daughter probably won't know what her "regular" period will be like for quite some time. It's unlikely that anything is wrong.
