Cold Duration and Safety

01/04/2007

Question:

I am having cold and slight cough for more than a week. I have nasal discharge with yellow mucus. Sometimes I have minor headaches too. Is this normal for the cold to last for more than a week with yellow mucus?

Answer:

7-10 days are about the limit for colds. If it lasts more than that, you might consider that it's a sinus infection.
