Triggers of Asthma12/29/2006 |
Can pine trees trigger or complicate asthma? I bought an artifical Christmas tree when we found out my nephew had asthma. It turned out that my own daughter ended up with asthma in her teens. Now that she is married and on her own she was wondering if it is true that someone with asthma shouldn`t have a real Christmas tree.
Freshly cut pine or evergreen trees exude resins which are potent irritants for patients with asthma. For this reason asthmatic patients should only have artificial trees.
