Breast Feeding

Adopting and wanting to breastfeed

01/19/2007

Question:

I have breastfeed two of my children years ago. I am adopting an infant and would love to be able to breastfeed this child also. Can I.. and if so, how can I start to produce milk again??? I really want to be able to do this!! Thanks!

Answer:

You can follow Dr. Jack Newman's protocol, which is available on his web site.

You have a very good chance of being quite successful, since you have breastfed before.

It will mean taking estrogen and progesterone, domperidone and pumping, but it can be done.

Good Luck!
