Low Iodine Diet and Balsamic Vinegar

02/05/2007

Question:

Do you know if it is okay to have balsamic vinegar on the low iodine diet and is there a limit to the amount you can have?

Answer:

The Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association at  has a free downloadable Low Iodine Cookbook that might be of use to you. I can't find anything specifically about balsamic vinegar, but they do say that oil and vinegar dressing is OK.
