Phosphoric acid

01/24/2007

Question:

I`m in 7th grade and doing an experiment on how phosphoric acid affects toth enamel. what sodas should I use?

Answer:

Regular soda has a more drastic affect of enamel than diet soda. You could compare the 2.  Regular soda has acid and sugar, while diet basically cuts out the sugar.  Some good choices would be Coke and Mountain Dew.  Also, we are seeing increased cavities from the caffeine drinks such as Red Bull and Jolt.

Good luck.
