Is any treatment needed or possible for my diagnosis of leukoariosis advanced stage? I am 78.
I have written extensively about white matter disease (also called small vessel ischemic changes, periventricular white matter disease, or leukoariosis). Please refer to previous answers to learn about what this means when seen on an MRI (and the MRI report).
In short, there is no treatment needed or available. All that you can do is try to modify your risk for stroke. It would be best to discuss ways to do this with your doctor.
