Colon Cancer |
PET Scans02/13/2007 |
My dad had colon cancer removed. The surgeon said it was a small cluster of polyps, and he was confident that it was gone. As a precaution, he sent dad to an oncologist. She has him scheduled for a PET scan. Just last week, I heard on the news, that new research has shown PET scans to actually CAUSE cancer in areas of the stomach. Have you heard this? is there an alternative? Thank You.
I’m not aware of that study and would not think that it could do so. An alternative could be a CT scan, but would depend on what the oncologist was specifically looking for.
