Colon Cancer |
My mom02/07/2007 |
My mom has been diagnosed stage four colon cancer. What is her survial rate? She is on 7 pills of chemo per day. Any help would be a great help.
On average (i.e. 50%) patients will survive around 20-24 months with chemotherapy. Some patients who have stage IV disease live longer if their metastatic lesions (cancer which spread to liver mainly) could be resected (surgically removed). It seems to me that your mom is getting oral chemotherapy alone? Most patients now get 3 drug regimen for colon cancer.
