Pain Management |
Post-thoracotomy Syndrome04/04/2007 |
Is there any surgery that will take care of post-thoracotomy syndrome? If so what are the side effects?
The pain can be managed (improved) by seeing a pain management specialist. The options of treatment differ based on duration of symptoms, medications tried, age of patient, severity of pain. Some of the surgical approaches involve freezing the nerves or stunning them and others involve implanting a device that modulates the pain sensation. Not everyone, however, is candidate for these interventions.
