Thyroid Surgery and Weight Gain

03/12/2007

Question:

I had my thyroid removed Oct `05. It was not from cancer. I did loose some weight afterwards, but not I`m gaining some back. I still excersie daily, my eating habits are the same. I stay away from fatty and greasy foods. I feel fatigued at time at the end of the day. My feet and hands swell up some. Have you heard of people having the same problems I am? Is there any more test I can have done to make me feel better and get my appetite back?

Answer:

It is not possible to comment on the relationship between your weight changes and your thyroid surgery based on your information.
