Can someone have Shingles without the rash?
This question has been forwarded by Senior Health:
Yes it is possible although pretty uncommon. It is also possible that one can get shingles (herpes zoster) and think they don’t have a rash but a dermatologist may see clues for it. Patients who have “shingles without the rash” often have pain in a specific linear pattern (in the distribution of the nerve endings to that part of the body) which often improves but may also be persistent for a long time.
