Dark gums after whitening with bleaching prod03/16/2007 |
Hi, I recently used a home bleaching kit to whiten my teeth that was given by my dentist. However I think I have used the product to liberally and now there one side of my gums is a darkish pigmentation. I was wondering what I should do now, should I wait to see if it fades or do I see a dentist immediately. Also is this easily fixed. Thanks for your help.
If it is not too painful or severe, time will help (4-5 days). If it is painful or blistering, a dentist could evaluate the area. You basically burned that area with the solution. Do not rebleach again until after your tissue has healed. When you do bleach, use a very small amount of material in a thin ribbon or dot application. If you can taste it, you probably used too much.
