Carbs burning?03/29/2007 |
Dear sir, How many grams of carbs would I burn if I walk briskly for half an hour? Out of 180-200 K.Cals., would it be 200/4=50 gms of carbs?? Thanks
When your body burns substrate for energy, that substrate is not automatically carbohydrate. In fact, it would be highly unlikely that all cells in your body are burning pure carbohydrate (or pure fat for that matter) under normal or pathophysiological conditions. A total number of kilocalories burned can be estimated based on your body weight, but we cannot say that it is all carbohydrate.
Thank you for your question.
