Sarcoidosis

White sores on inside lips a symptom?

03/23/2007

Question:

I was told by the dermatologist that did my biopsy (positive) and he said it normally shows up as little white spots or sores just on the inside of ones nostrils. So, I was wondering, now all of a sudden I have a bunch of tiny little white specks on the inside of my lips. Could this be sarcoidosis or should I go see my doctor for something else?

Answer:

Sarcoidosis can present in many different ways, and it is often difficult to diagnose skin involvement without a biopsy. Other skin diseases can be confused with sarcoidosis. Therefore, I would suggest that you obtain consultation from a dermatologist.
