Blood clots in sisters04/17/2007 |
My sister and I who are both in our late 30`s have developed sub clavian vein thrombosis with in 14 months of each other, I was diagnosed last year but no cause has been found, are these 2 incidences related? what should we be tested for. we are both healthy and active and not over weight.
When we see two family members develop blood clots without precipitating events, we evaluate for inherited disorders leading to increased risk of clotting. These were probably done, but if not, I would ask your primary physician for referral to a physician who sees patients with clotting disorders.
