Falling out of bed04/27/2007 |
Is it common for older adults to fall out of bed? What might cause it to happen?
It is not usually within the norm for older people to just "fall out of bed". Could be something related to the inner ear or some other neurological experience or may be due to several other causes. My suggestion is that the older person who is falling at any time needs to visit their primary health care provider for evaluation as soon as possible. Studies indicate that falls are a major cause of physical and psychological injury as we age and must be addressed.
