How Long Should Actonel be Taken?07/05/2007 |
I have been taking Actonel for 8 years to prevent osteoporis, my spine improved and my hip stabilized. My doctor says that Actonel will no longer help after 5 years of intake, and might affect my none bearing bones. Should I stop Actonel for a while, and try again later?
It is not necessary to stop Actonel. If you stop the treatment, your bone will eventually begin to decrease again.
