Hemochromatosis06/29/2007 |
I am a 29 yr old female with an iron level of 235. My doctor tested it again and it was elevated a little more. I am always tired no matter how many hours of sleep I get and for years I have been treated for Anklyosing Spondilitis, arthritis in my fingers, and arthritis in my feet. I have been on the depo shot for almost five years so I do not menstruate. Could the cause of all my problems stem from Hemochromatosis?
In general, if hemochromatosis is severe, patients will have heart and liver damage. I am not sure we can distinguish that your problems are due to hemochromatosis.
