Head and Neck Cancer |
Do I have cancer07/12/2007 |
I have a painfull lump on my head the doctor says its a lymph node. My mother died from a brain tumor. Have I got the same?
The only way to confirm the presence or abscence of cancer is through a tissue diagnosis, such as a fine needle biopsy or excisional biopsy. A reason for the discomfort should be identified. Most likely this is not the same as what your mom had. If this lump is still present and/or the discomfort remains, a follow up appointment with your physician should be arranged.
