What causes Lipoma Tumors and how do you stop them from growing?
Lipomas are masses or tumors consisting of normal fat tissue. They are not considered to be cancerous or malignant; they are not pre-cancerous. They do grow and can sometimes get quite large. Having lipomas does not increase the risk of getting cancer. It is not known why they occur, however almost everyone develops some type of benign lesions or masses of some sort during their lifetime. They are not related to high cholesterol levels or diabetes and there is no known way to prevent them. If bothersome, they can be surgically removed.
