Contradictory ultrasound result?07/20/2007 |
Results of PSV: Left common carotid artery 134 cm/sec. Left internal carotid artery 129 cm/sec. Please tell me if the two following statements contradict each other: a) Moderate amount of plaque within the left common carotid artery with approximately 50% narrowing (visualized) of the mid left common carotid artery. b) Mildly elevated peak systolic velocities within the left internal carotid artery are noted, however, on grayscale imaging no significant plaque is identified and the internal carotid artery/common carotid artery ratios are within normal limits.
No - this all seems appropriate.
