Stroke

Small vessel ischemic change

07/27/2007

Question:

WHAT IS THIS?

Answer:

A very non specific term used in the radiology report. It is an extremely common finding in the MRI, especially in elderly patients with a history of hypertension. Similar finding sometimes exist in patients with migraine headache. Unless severe, I just recommend control of hypertension. Best regards.
