Arthritis and Rheumatism

Bone scan

08/20/2007

Question:

I have rheumatoid arthritis and just got a bone scan done. I looked at the monitor as it was doing my hips. My spine was a grey color but my hips were alot brighter then my spine. I will get the results in 2 weeks. What could this mean? Could it mean that my RA is attacking my hips?

Answer:

The increased color of the hips probably represents degenerative arthritis rather than rheumatoid arthritis.
