Sunburn and bruising08/28/2007 |
I did find one entry from someone else that asked about swelling from sunburn, but I wanted to ask about bruising too. Our house guest was in the sun and his legs were severely sunburned 2 days ago. Now one ankle is swellen and seems to be bruising??? Can anyone give us info?
A severe sunburn is often associated with swelling but not as frequently with bruising. Depending on the amount of swelling, the age of the patient and other medical conditions/medications taken, bruising may occur. If it does not appear to be resolving within 38-72 hrs or is getting worse a visit to your doctor is in order.
