Arthritis and Rheumatism

Rhumatoid arthritis

09/18/2007

Question:

I have RA and I am taking Enbrel. The question is I have one finger on the left hand which swelled up and looks like a sausage there are no cuts or marks which I can relate this to so I am assuming it is the RA causing it. What do you do for this since I can hardly bend my finger?

Answer:

Talk to your rheumatologist. A sausage finger raises the possibility of other diagnoses that are sometimes hard to tell from RA.
