Question:

I had an ECHO and my doctor said that something showed up on it. She said that it was nothing major but she is sending me to see a cardiologist. She also asked me alot of questions about my lungs. I am not sure what showed up on the test. Can you explain to me how RA can effecct my heart and lungs?

Answer:

Sometimes RA can affect the lungs, with inflammation and scarring. The heart is also rarely affected, most usually around the lining. By all means, see the cardiologist.
