How much money do you make a year being an Athletic TranieR?
As is true in every profession, salaries vary with experience, education, type of job, region of the country, etc.
The most recent data I have are from the 2005 salary survey conducted by the National Athletic Trainers' Association. In that survey:
- the average high school ATC earned $43,884
- the average college ATC earned $37,617 (colleges are bottom heavy with new staff)
- the average pro football ATC earned $80,111
If we look by education level, the average for bachelor's degrees was $36,282, and for masters $41,280 (over 2/3 of ATC's have masters degrees). These data are two years old, and they are not accurate for predicting future salaries. In fact, we are noticing an upswing in salaries for our new graduates, and I look forward to seeing what the next salary survey holds.
