Lower Back/Side Pain12/14/2007 |
CT Scan, MRI, Ultrasound, X-rays, blood work, have all ruled out any conditions causing extreme and constant pain. Patient can not lie flat. Although degenerative disc disease exists pain does not coincide w/diagnosis. One medium size kidney stone and several granular gallstones exist which have been ruled out as associated with the symptoms. 77 year old female, non-smoker. Taking Percacet every 3 hours. Pain returns as soon as med`s wear off. I have never taken pain medications other than Aspirin/Tylenol. Feeling fatigued from lack of sleep and pain. Thank you for any advice.
It is unclear from your email where the pain is located. If work-up remains negative despite seeing multiple specialists, consultation with a pain medicine specialist is indicated for pain control. A differential spinal block is sometimes performed in similar clinical situations.
