Lost my retainer after 7 years or wearing it.
I got my braces off when I was 16, and wore my retainer every night like my Dr. said. I have been wearing off and on for 7 years now, and I lost it over a month ago. I don`t know if it would even fit now even if I found it. I know my teeth will shift, but my question is: Do you think my teeth will start to look crooked even after 7 years of wearing the retainer? I cannot afford to get a new one. Thanks.
Teeth never become attached to the bone. Therefore, any time you stop wearing a retainer, your teeth could move. To be safe you should get a new retainer.
