Is There Any Chance Enbrel has Stopped Working?

11/23/2007

Question:

I have been taking Enbrel, MTX, NSAID and Prednisone for a year. I thought that my RA was just flaring but it is lasting longer then it normaly does. I got alot of pain, swelling and stiffness. Right now my hands and feet are worse. It has lasted for 4 weeks and it normaly on for 1.5-2 weeks. In the past two weeks I have also lost 10 pounds. Is it possible that the Enbrel has stoped working and how common is that to happen? Would that mean that other drugs like Enbrel will not work either now? Thanks.

Answer:

Sometimes the disease breaks through Enbrel. Other drugs often work in such cases.
