ADD or OCD

12/14/2007

Question:

Is there any behavioral strategies for a child who possibly could have ADD with OCD tendencies. EX. school desk and bookbag extremely organized, ritual way to go to bed (proper placement of pillows, etc)very difficult time attending to non-preferred activities and has a hard time keeping feet still during bed time reading. Very happy girl and no compliance issues. Can also be very needy. Thank you for your time.

Answer:

Yes, there are structural changes in your home and school environment that could help your child. It depends upon which complex of behaviors is most impairing. I would seek professional help in getting treatment for your daughter.
