Adult tooth coming through sideways.11/20/2007 |
My 5-year-old son has his rightside front adult tooth coming through completely sideways, IS there anything i can do???
Thank you for the question. It is not unusual for adult teeth to come in at an angle or even 'crooked.' Many times the teeth will correct themselves with eruption as the child ages, but other times they will need intervention from an orthodontist/pediatric dentist.
I would recommend an exam by a pediatric dentist as the best place to start - they can usually identify any eruption problems with a thorough exam and radiographs. Your son is relatively young to have the adult front tooth coming in, but some children have advanced eruption of teeth.
I hope this helps.
