A concern about the design of x-ray equipment11/28/2007 |
Does the new digital dental xray equipment generally cause the extreme discomfort I experienced recently ? I wish the equipment could be flexible and compatible enough to fit the different contours of different mouths. I gagged and wept my way through an hour of sheer torture.
There are many advantages to digital radiography, however patient comfort is not one of them. Some digital sensors can be quite thick, and they are not flexible like intraoral film. Because of their bulky nature, many patients experience discomfort.
