Post-laparoscopic cholecystectomy11/30/2007 |
On Nov. 16th 2007 underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Gallbladder removed in addition to numerous adhesions attached to liver and mainly gallbladder. Outpatient basis. Now experiencing severe upper right-sided pain (below rib cage, above hip) even with pain medication. Difficulty taking breaths, coughing, moving, sitting, and/or standing. Please advise. Thank you.

I would return to your surgeon and have a CT and or blood work performed to rule out infection or bile leak.

There are many reasons you could be experiencing these symptoms and I would recommend you see your primary healthcare provider or surgeon regarding these new symptoms. It could be a pulmonary (lung) problem, irritation of the nerves supplying the skin and muscles on the right side, a complication from your cholecystectomy etc.
