Torn flap of skin under the tongue12/05/2007 |
I accidentally somehow tore the flap of skin under the tongue that attaches it to the bottom of the mouth. I think the bottom row of teeth tore it. I wanted to know if this is a problem? If it needs to be repaired or if it doesn`t matter? The tear is just under where it attaches to the tongue. It is still connected to the tongue, but is a little irritating, and did bleed a little when it was done. Is there any serious concern?
It should heal within 2 weeks. If it does not heal, have your local dentist check it. Also be sure that there aren't any sharp/rough edges on the tops of your bottom front teeth.
