Breast Cancer

Bloody nipple discharge

I am 32 and female. Recently I had spontaneous, unilateral nipple discharge and my doctor examined me and said the discharge appeared to be "old blood". She sent me for a mammogram and ultrasound [both normal except for cysts] and now I am waiting for a ductogram. The problem is, I can not get an appointment for 2 months. I realize the risk of cancer is pretty low, but if it turns out to be cancer, is this a safe amount of time to wait?

Two months would be a medically acceptable wait for a ductogram. The anxiety may be difficult for you, however. Perhaps you could be on a wait list if there is a cancellation.
