Loss of gum graph dressing12/27/2007 |
The bubble gum like dressing which is on the upper portion of my mouth has come off twice now. Its been four days after my surgery and the area is only slightly exposed (because only a portion of the dressing cam off). What shoudl I do? cna I eat normal food? and most importantly, I`m a smoker, can I smoke?
Do not worry about the dressing. It generally works if you can keep it on during the first two days. No biting on the surgical site. Cut down your smoking as much as you can. Healing depends on good blood circulation. Smoking will hurt newly forming blood vessels.
