Screening after preventive treatment01/31/2008 |
I had a positive PPD (Tuberculosis skin test) when I was 18, but I think I was exposed when I was much younger. I have had chest x-rays done and everything is fine. Then, last year I did the INH prophylaxis treatment. Am I still supposed to have screening done? Can I get another skin test done? Thanks!
You should not have another TB skin test done. If you are ever exposed to TB again in the future, or if you become a health-care worker, you may be asked to have your chest x-ray repeated later.
