Menopause

Breast soreness

02/26/2008

Question:

my breasts are sore everyday just like before my period would start except now the soreness is dailly-i dont feel any lumps and i am still having my periods-i am 49 and my dr told me according to bloodwork i am beginning menopause-is the soreness part of this

Answer:

A lot of women experience more beast tenderness around the time of menopause.  It should decrease, but may not totally disappear, once you are completely menopausal (one year of no periods).  Some women can reduce breast tenderness by eliminating caffeine and chocolate from their diet.  It does not work for everyone.
