Hepatitis from alcohol04/09/2008 |
I need to know what type of hepatitis is contracted through drinking alcohol and how to treat it.
Hepatitis means inflammation of the liver. The liver can become inflamed by drinking alcohol and is called alcoholic hepatitis. The treatment is stopping alcohol to prevent further damage to the liver. In severe cases of scarring of the liver which can lead to complications from the liver not working well, liver transplant may be indicated.
