Urinary and Genital Disorders (Children)
The debate rages about the merits or demerits of infant circumcision. If I have a son, my view is not to have him circumcised. My wife believes that circumcision may help to reduce STDs in later life, but she readily admits that the studies in favour of circumcision as a modest preventative may be biased (which is my belief).
Can you tell me what the current position is on infant circumcision?
There is no prevailing view. Unfortunately, the issue is extremely polarizing.
The advantages and risks of newborn circumcision vs. the advantages and risks of not performing a circumcision at birth are virtually the same.
